How to Record XCams with CaptureGem

Download CaptureGem for Windows, macOS or Linux and open the desktop app. Check that you're on 2.14.9 or later so XCams appears in the site list. The standalone recorder can't record XCams without the CaptureGem desktop browser running.

Open the model's public room on XCams and copy its address, such as https://www.xcams.com/chat/model_username/.

On the Record tab, paste the room link into the Add Stream panel, or choose XCams and type the model username. Check that XCams is selected, then click Add Stream.

XCams and XLoveCam are separate sites, so pick the one that matches your room link.

CaptureGem loads the room in its own XCams browser window. Once recording starts, that window runs in the background; keep CaptureGem open while recording.

• If XCams needs age confirmation, acceptance of its terms, or sign-in before recording can start, an XCams window may appear. Complete those steps there, then retry recording from CaptureGem.
• Sign in inside that XCams window when required. Signing in with your usual web browser doesn't sign in the CaptureGem session.
• If XCams says your free viewing time has ended, follow the site's sign-in instructions before retrying.

When a recording ends, CaptureGem processes it into a finished video file. Long recordings can take a little while.

• Open the Review tab to play, trim, tag or delete the recording, or click Open Video Folder on the Record tab.
• Recordings are saved as MP4 files by default.
• With Premium, each file is up to 60 minutes long by default, and auto-record starts the next file straight away.
• The save location, the file length (Cap Video Segments at Duration (Minutes)) and the file container can all be changed in Settings.

• Free: saves up to 5 minutes per recording and lets you add up to 10 models. A model is recorded when you add or start them while they're live, so if they were offline, start the recording again later.
• Premium: removes those limits and adds auto-record. Select the model on the Record tab, choose Modify Auto Record under Actions, then pick Record Always. CaptureGem then records whenever the model comes online and restarts after a disconnect. Compare plans.
• To auto-record every model you add from now on, turn on Auto Record All Newly Added Models in Settings (Premium).

The Monitor tab shows live previews of everything you're recording.

• Offline roomWait until the model is broadcasting publicly, then try again.
• Private or restricted roomThe XCams integration records public rooms. Recording stops if the room becomes private, paid, blurred or otherwise restricted.
• Access or sign-in messageComplete the site's steps in CaptureGem's XCams window and retry recording. CaptureGem respects XCams viewing limits.
• Recording doesn't start or stopsCheck that the public video plays in the XCams window and that your connection works. If the broadcast ends or the player stops delivering video, wait for it to return before retrying.
• XCams missing from the site listUpdate to CaptureGem 2.14.9 or later.

If a recording keeps failing, update CaptureGem, check that the stream plays in your browser, and ask in the CaptureGem Discord community. Premium members can also send a failed recording to support.
